Graduate Fellowships at Rutgers (full tuition and stipends)
The MetroMath Center is:
- dedicated to improving mathematics education and achievement in America's cities

The MetroMath Center will be offering a small number of new fellowships providing full tuition and stipends to full-time students enrolled in Ph.D. or Ed.D. programs at Rutgers University. Fellowships are available for one year with renewal for a second year contingent on funding and satisfactory progress in the program. Students well along in their doctoral studies, as well as incoming students are encouraged to apply. Priority consideration will be given to those whose research interests are aligned with the MetroMath research activities and project goals. Doctoral students in the following disciplines will be considered:
- Mathematics Education
- Mathematics
- Educational Theory, Policy, and Administration
- Educational Psychology
- Learning and Teaching
- Psychology
- Cognitive Science
- Urban Education
- Urban Planning & Policy Development
- other doctoral programs related to the MetroMath Center's goals
Fellows will participate in a special four-semester Seminar (the "MU-Seminar") that will explore, from the perspectives of many disciplines, all the critical issues that affect mathematics education in the cities. Fellows will also be expected to spend 15-20 hours per week participating in Center research projects. (Fellows must be US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents.)
New students should apply for admission to the doctoral program of their choice. Interested new and current students should contact Karen Murray, MetroMath Project Manager, at 732-445-1408 or klmurray@rci.rutgers.edu for application forms. Consideration of applications will begin March 5, 2007 and continue until the available positions are filled.
